Creating photographs together.
Le Studio Chesterfield is my space for photographic creation near Bordeaux, France.
I am an amateur photographer. I do not sell photo shoots or offer photography services. I work exclusively through artistic collaborations with adult female models.
Every shoot begins with a shared desire: to create images together.
The Studio
Le Studio Chesterfield grew out of my passion for photography.
It is not a business, a photography service, or a studio offering paid shoots. It is the space where I develop personal projects and welcome the collaborations that interest me.
I mainly photograph female portraiture, with a particular interest in editorial, fashion, and beauty work.
I look for carefully constructed images: sometimes very simple, sometimes more elaborate, but always created around an intention we define together.
I am not looking for clients.
I am looking for collaborations.
A collaboration, not a service
A collaboration begins before the shoot.
We share references, ideas, clothing, lighting concepts, and moods; sometimes simply a few images that make us want to explore a direction.
I may initiate the project. The model may also arrive with an idea. The project may just as easily emerge from our conversations.
What matters is that each person has a reason to want to make these images.
On the day of the shoot, I naturally take responsibility for the photography, lighting, and direction. That does not mean the model becomes the executor of an idea decided without her.
A good collaboration is built by two people.
Read “Photographier ensemble” (opens in a new tab)The article offers a longer explanation of my approach and the principles that guide my collaborations.
What I photograph
Portrait, beauty, fashion, and editorial naturally overlap. These directions describe my work without confining it within rigid boundaries.
Images centered on the person: her face, attitude, and presence.
More precise work around the face, skin, makeup, lighting, and framing.
Clothing, body lines, movement, attitude, and the way the model inhabits the image.
Series developed around an intention, mood, light, or visual narrative.
How I work
Together, we define a direction: references, mood board, styling, possible makeup, lighting, atmosphere, and the result we are looking for.
I direct when needed and leave room for what emerges naturally during the shoot.
We try. We adjust. We change a light, a frame, an attitude. A planned idea may work immediately or be abandoned in favor of a better one.
A shoot is not limited to the moment the shutter is released.
Selection, processing, skin rendering, contrast, color, grain, and framing all contribute to the final writing of the image.
Clear foundations
A few straightforward points to understand immediately how a collaboration is built at the Studio.
I do not offer paid shoots or accept photography commissions.
My current photographic projects focus on female portraiture.
These are the territories in which I currently want to develop my work.
Before each shoot, we talk enough to understand what we want to try to create.
Being a professional model is not a prerequisite. I direct and guide when needed.
A collaboration is built on trust, clarity, and respect for what we decide together.
Collaborate
If my photographic world speaks to you and you would like to take part in a project, you can contact me on Instagram.
You can come with a clear idea, a few references, a still-vague impulse, or simply the desire to collaborate.
We will see together whether we have a project to build.
